I’m liking this series so far, but I especially liked this vid. It’s nice to hear your thoughts on variance and sticking with it. I think a lot of us non-pros can get discouraged when facing several sessions when we get coolered. It’s especially hard to take when you feel like you are playing well and still busting out. It’s easy to start second guessing yourself, and it seems like that can be a fatal mistake if you start changing your good play to try to compensate for what is just bad luck.
A good example from this week for me was getting AA sucked out on. I min raised/induced and ended up getting it in the middle, which of course is what I wanted. But right after, I started thinking, “Maybe if I had shoved, he would have folded pre and I would still have those chips”. After the steam settled and I thought back through the hand, I decided that I had played the hand correctly for the situation and that no adjustment was really needed. You just gotta sigh and move on.
On 39 mins in the bb you 3-bet Q8, dont you think your 3-bet is on the small side especially out of position as your giving him such good odds to flat?
Just In the end of the video is it ok to call off 20bb shove with AQ?? I know poker has changed a bit in the last years where AQ is a mosnter now, but I think i would prefer a fold and preserve the stack?
Hey bro. If someone open rips 20bbs and you have aq in todays poker world that is a snap call. Your way ahead of his shoving range esp in late position.
good stuff Casey. A big leak in my game is not expanding my range nor taking advantage of spots. You min raised light knowing you could be giving away chips but the payoff is picking up uncontested pots. Still I’m amazed at the starting hands you were getting in the Lock Tourney, AA, 10s twice, 9s (for a flopped set). Helps to run good too.
the hand @ about 37 minutes in the lock tourny i really dislike c/cing the turn here we are rarely ahead and drawing to a chop a lot of the time i feel like we are ending up in a negative freeroll just way too much the time

Thanks for these superb videos.
Presumably part 4 is forthcoming?

Actually, no. I put a note up in the description that he busted while saving this video so there’s no part 4.

Was the K10s at 31:10 a misclick fold to a min raise?
