TPE Theory: Expert Level Hand History Analysis
Ok, get ready guys, this is sure to be the most advanced series on the site – Daryl Jace starts his Expert Level Hand History Analysis. Part 1 is about setting the framework for the future parts in the series.
Key parts of the framework
Making your flop decision keeping aware of what impacts that has on the turn and river, similarly for the turn.
- Flop – what’s his range, what’s my range, what is the best play on the flop, especially considering turns and rivers, and under what circumstances may an alternate line be favourable.
- Turn – similar to the flop, but obviously there is only the river to consider rather than the turn and river.
- Bet sizing on each street.
- River – what’s his range, what’s my range, decide what the best line is, and find the circumstances where you would take each of the different lines available to you.
In part 2, he gets straight into the nitty gritty of it. The discussion revolves around opening Js8d from the cut-off in the early stages of a tournament, and the board comes down 3h 6s 5h. Daryl goes into a huge amount of detail about what kinds of cards are good for us and what are bad, and they can be different for different players.
This is easily the most detailed video on the site, so it might be overwhelming for some newer players, but if you stick with it you will get lots out of it. I personally found it awesome! The TPE boys weren’t wrong when they say this could be an instant classic!
Mike “goleafsgoeh” Hot Turbos and The Bigs Live Sweat
In part 3 Mike continues with the Big $11, Hot $55 and the Big$55. There are some nice spots early where Mike tosses up whether to shove the turn for value or check to induce, and after ranging his opponent he decides to shove and gets maximum value out of the hand. In part 4, it is getting into the mid stages of both the Big 11 and the Hot 55, and is getting close to the money. This series is all about ranging people, which we all know is Mike’s strength. Unfortunately he can’t get the run good going, but this is still a great series.
Forum
The first hand this week comes from TiltedEV, who posts an interesting hand in the early stages of a Lock $109 tournament, against TPE Pro hufficanejeff!

Member Scores
Another week, another HUGE score for TPE! This week it was “xLaylax” who chopped the Sunday storm 6 handed for $11.6k, besting his previous best cash of $740! Absolutely amazing effort to get through a field of that many people! EaglesFn1127 also had a killer run, posting his results since joining TPE, which include 9 final tables, and surely tens of thousands in profit. SICK!! This week I continued my decent form, final tabling three tournaments in the same night at the same time! Unfortunately I could only manage the minor placings, cashing for about $500 in total. Turbulence also suffered the same fate, finishing 6th in the Lock $30 1.5k gtd. m@ddm@n also had a great run, final tabling a $1.5k gtd on 888.
If you would like you see your achievements recognised let me know by posting in either the sweat thread or the BBV thread and let us know how you are going!
