So…it's back to reality. I ended up having to leave Las Vegas a bit earlier than expected. Although it only resulted in about 3 less days in Vegas, it did result in me not being out there for the main event, which was kind of a bummer. That is such an exciting time to be around The Rio! Hopefully next year I wont have any conflicts and can hang around for that. Overall, the summer was a pretty good success from a poker standpoint. I ended up with 4 cashes (Binions $1k, Wynn $350, Venetian $400 and Venetian Big Bounty) and 3 of those 4 cashes were final tables. I had another final table, unfortunately it was in a tournament that paid 6 and I finished 7th. I had two other bubbles to go with that one, which is a bit frustrating, but I'm happy that I was playing to win and not just to "make the money". Busting on the exact last hand of day 1 of the $1500 WSOP was probably the most frustrating, but I guess that goes with the territory of those big field events.
Now that I am back, I am excited to get back on the grind. The poker grind and the Tournament Poker Edge grind! Obviously when everyone is off playing the WSOP and other events in Las Vegas over the summer, we realize that things slow down a bit in chat and on the forums. That is just natural. But now that we are all back, we are ready to get things rocking again. TPE Chat has been on FIRE the last few days. Our hope is that every day (but ESPECIALLY Sundays) the chat is THE place to be for all of you guys getting your grind on.
Anyway, I want to say thanks to everyone that was sweating us this summer and especially to those of you who threw words of encouragement my way when deep. It meant a lot and I can't wait to do it all again next year!!!
