Hey guys. This week are treated to another podcast, this time with new TPE mod and all-round MTT beast “rivermen123” as the special guest. We also get two parts of the latest stick it to the man series, a Theory vid on aggression, and part 3 of Marc Alioto’s HH review.
Podcast
MTT Strategy with Rivermen123 (81:15)
https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/podcasts/
On this episode of the Tournament Poker Edge Podcast, we are introduced to new TPE forum mod James "Rivermen123" Lambert. He discusses how he got in to poker, how he approaches being a full time MTT pro and we discuss some poker strategy. Topics include ranging your opponents, bet sizing and having a plan and sticking to it.
He has also done quite a few member vids lately which are awesome, if you want to check them out, see this thread.
Videos
Merge $100k 2nd Place Finish with Marc “aznAllin007″ Alioto (Part 3)
In this video, Marc returns with around 40bb. For part 3 he has the HUD up and running, so first up he runs through what stats he has on the hud, so if you are looking for a tournament specific HUD, then this one is pretty good. As in earlier parts, the analysis is just awesome. The tournament is down to two tables now, so there are some nice steal and 3bet spots. During the middle of the vid, Marc goes on a huge heater and builds a huge stack. This video is very funny at how Marc gives it to himself about the plays he disagrees with! The video ends at the start of the final table.
Sticking it to the Man! RonFezBuddy’s Low Stakes Live Sweat with Dannyn13 and Cougars4444 (Parts 2 and 3)
This week sticking to the man continues with parts 2 and 3. The best part of the SITTM series is because we have two pros commenting on the play, so the difference in opinions creates lots of interesting discussion. In part 2, RFB is grinding short-medium stacks in all of his tourneys. There is some good discussion about the cbet sizing that RFB alluded to in the latest podcast. In part 3 there is some good discussion about what stack sizes we should be shoving with.
TPE Theory: Aggression
This theory video sees BourbonFTW talk about aggression, something that he is very well equipped to teach us about! Topics mostly involve around 3betting, including how to find spots to 3 bet, which spots to abuse, sizing to set up turn and river bets, and how to identify table flow. There is some great information early on if you are wanting to brush up on your terminology. There is also a pretty sick hand between BourbonFTW and another reg where he gets 6bet!
Forum
This week TPE pro DannyN13 posts a really interesting hand where he 3bets light with K6o and then triple barrel shoves.

“P-aire 146” also posts a really tough spot in a live tourney where he has AK in the bb.

“terbet11” also starts an interesting thread on how to deal with downswings

Member Tourney
As part of TPE’s two-year celebrations, the boys have set up a private tournament on Lock poker! They will also be setting up one on stars for non-us members in the future.
Check out this thread for more information

There is also a TPE private tourney on stars set up by member “cousteer”, this week aptly titled “Benny buster” because I shipped it last week! Check out this thread for more details
Member Scores
The big score of the week belongs to “guitey” who only chimes in occasionally, but when he does it is worth it! This week he chopped the party poker weekly $215 for $28k and last month won a $90r for 10k! What a beast!. There were some other nice scores for the week too. “cousteer” shipped an $11 tourney on stars for $1.7k! I personally know how hard he has been working on his game, so this is just reward. Speaking of people working hard, I am pretty sure “insidiously” spends more time posting in the sweat threads than he does actually playing poker, but once again he has made some nice runs, finishing second in a $11c on Lock, and third in a 5k freezeout. “ShoveIdareU” also makes a really nice run, shipping a $11 tourney on Lock
See you at the tables!
