Hey guys, a lot of content this week including four new videos, a TPE live podcast, and a new article, so we will get straight into it.

Podcast

TPE Live – 2012 World Series of Poker w/ bigdogpckt5s and aznAllin007 (32:42)

https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/tournament-poker-edge-live-podcast/

The boys from last week’s strategy podcast are back, but this time they give us the first offering of TPE live for the year, discussing the schedule for the 2012 WSOP. It certainly makes the whole TPE nation jealous hearing about the sick house with a pool for a whole summer in Vegas, but is interesting to follow the progress of our favourite pros!

Videos

This week the Merge 100k tourney is in the spotlight, with Daryl “aaaaaaaa” Jace giving us parts 4 and 5 of his 6 part series where he takes it down, and Shaun “Cougars4444” Hendrickson gives us a Hand History Review of the deep run made by “1Uwant2bdaddy1” in the same tourney. We also get the conclusion to the “bigdogpckt5s” live sweat.

Merge 100k Major Win Hand History Review with Daryl “aaaaaaaa” Jace (Parts 4,5 of 6)

Part 5

During part 3 Daryl built a huge stack and he continues to crush during part 4, so now we are treated to some deep stacked play, including a triple barrel spot early in the video. There is also some great info about playing hands from late position and SB with some re-shove stacks behind. There is also a sick hand later in the vid where Daryl makes a huge river call with third pair. He carries his huge stack through part 5 on the way to the final table. Watch out for the 5bet with QJo!

Bigdogpckt5′s Mixed Stages Live Sweat (Part 1 of 2)

Part 2

In the second part of this live sweat, we continue to rail Bigdogpckt5s through the 33 2r1a on stars and the 30r on Lock. Unfortunately a table change means KB is no longer in the video, but we get to see a final table in the stars tourney. The fact that we don’t get a part 3 is a bad sign because it means that an early final table bustout occurred but the first two parts are still great viewing.

Cougars4444 Member Hand History Review for 1Uwant2bdaddy1 (Part 1 of 3)

Part 1

TPE’s crushing of the merge 100k tourney continues, this time with a hand history review of TPE member “1Uwant2bdaddy1.” There aren’t too many spots in the early stages but Cougars4444 picks up on some little leaks.

Thin Value Bets

https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/thin-value-bets/

One of the most important concepts in modern poker theory is the ability to extract thin value from our opponents when we have marginal holdings, and this article highlights that. I really like the point about value betting when your bluffs catch some sort of equity on the turn or river but the draws we are representing all miss.

Forum

This week in the forums, “MartinAltman” wonders whether he can fold bottom set on a draw heavy flop https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/forum/mtt-poker-strategy/can-i-fold-set-here/

Another interesting post was made by “DaNta5tic” who posts about a hand he played from UTG and about UTG strategy in general.

Lastly, there is a nice thread going about balancing family and poker started by “switelex,”  interesting read.

Member Scores

This week was huge for TPE members in live tournaments. Luis “badabing78” Toubib 8th in GSOP Salzburg Main Event for 8550, complete with picture in TPE hoodie!

TPE members also crushed the Auckland Anniversary Poker Champs where we came close to a TPE double final table.  “emufart” finished 5th for a cool NZD11.4k while “hapetimes” just missed the final table finishing 11th for around 3k. Awesome job guys! Last but not least, there was a great online score to mention, with “arukidinme” getting unlucky and finishing 2nd Pokerstars Big $27 after surrendering a bit heads up chip lead.

That’s it from me guys, make sure you keep posting hands and your results in the forums, we love to hear about them!

See you at the tables!
