So as i have mentioned before, I play occasionally in this local home cash game.  It's really more of an underground game I guess.  I consider my home game a home game.  Pass the deal, no rake etc.  This game is a raked, has a dealer, and so on.  it sucks that I live someplace that I have to worry about being robbed to go play some poker, but so be it.  Like I have said, it is my excuse to get out of the house and socialize a bit.

I've been killing the game lately.  I think I have had 6 or 7 straight winning sessions, a couple of them of really decent size.  I think I have gotten to the point where I have really good reads on every regular.  There is one guy who I thought I had a read on, but it has since been proven wrong.

Cash is such a different animal.  I wish I enjoyed it as much as tournaments, because then I could put the same amount of study and time in to really getting good at it.  But in the meantime I will continue to play it essentially as a break from the online MTT grind and if it buys a few cheeseburgers along the way, that is good too.

Maybe I'll just pick up a book or two to read so I can at least get the basics.  I've heard mixed reviews on the Harrington Cash books…anyone have insight on those?  Or any other suggestions.

Don't worry though, you'll still find me gridning online tournaments 3-4 nights per week.  What can I say, I'm a sucker for them.

I agree with you 100% on the cash games. I myself have found it hard to get into cash! I noticed you said that you play in a regular cash game, and I was wondering if you might be interested in a decent MTT. I currently live in Greensboro and there is a sick tournament in Denton. If you are interested in hearing anything more about it just PM me and we can get further into details. Good luck on and off the felt! TPE nation

If you want some good cash game books bro read anything from dailyvariance.com i cant afford as many books from them as i wish i could lol cause they are pricey for sure but def worth it.i have read two on my nook and they were both amazing. Theyre written from an online cash point of view but all the basic ideas can be used for live as well. I only play 1/2 at Parx now ever sense black friday. The Harrington stuff is of course classic and helped but its not for todays game and really not for someone who has as much time in as someone like you. “the Poker Blueprint” is the one im in now and its for todays game not last years or 5 years ago. If u have a nook lemme know and i can lend it to you through them instead of you spending the cash.
