So the new Sunday Storm arrived with a bang yesterday and like all good value hounds the Gman was out and about skulking around the tables looking for his piece of the pie. I'll say now that the 210k for first would have been a pretty sweet slice to grab, but that was not to be. I did however manage to pull off a 7592nd finish out of the 113k+ runners. I beat 105,000 other players to get there and walked away reasonably frustrated with my $33. I know I shouldn't complain much as it was a pretty solid run to get there, and I was running about a 15-25bb stack for a lot of the tournament (I boosted up to 100bb's early and then went into a cruise control mode which may have been a mistake, but I have to look over the whole tourney in detail to see). I got myself stuck at about the 40k stack size and just couldn't seem to break through. I was definetly the aggressor at my table and have really started to become comfortable with that role. On that not I managed a 45th in the Super Stack 15k on Full Tilt Friday night that I was really happy with. I managed to get to a table with about 200 players left that was the weakest table I think I have ever played at. Quite literaly they folded to every one of my opens or my 3bets. I felt like an animal just pounding people for chips hand after hand. Unfortunetly once the table move occured I wasn't able to effectively change gears and couldn't shake off the bloodlust quite properly and ended up making some costly mistakes.

Speaking of costly mistakes I was talking over with some of the guys that I play with (quick shoutout to ADAG!) and we think we have found my costliest mistake. Looks like the Gman is gotta go back to the drawing board a bit on calling All In's. Looks like I am calling off way too light and costing myself a lot of chips late in tournaments. So the goal for this week is to sit down and start taking a look at how I react to shoves and manage that part of my game better. I am getting much better at building my stack early, maintaining though the mid stages and pushing my table around when I need to. My overall game seems to be starting to come together and a lot of deep runs have been happening so this is exciting to find something that is really damaging me late and take the opportunity to fix it. I'll let you know how it goes!

Last little update on the Step Challenge. I played another dozen or so on FTP this weekend and I am at break even. I won Step 1 tickets in all of the Step 1 tourneys that I played so that kind of sucked in a sense. I think that playing these is going to have a posititive benefit in my MTT game as Turbo SnG's are all about shoves and knowing when to call. Time to make sure I pay attention and do some work there. I'll talk with everyone tomorrow! This is the Gman Signing out! Don't forget to look for me on Twitter, I usually update on my sessions there @lespaulgmanTPE.
