Good morning all! So Spring is almost here, temperatures are warming up and summer is just around the corner. What does that have to do with anything you ask? Well it is time for some goal adjustment I think. With the advent of the Multi Entry tournament I am no longer enamored with the Mini FTOPs series and my focus on attempting to win one has gone way down. I think the new formats are destructive for the game and are really driving the fish out of the events as it is too expensive for them to take a shot leading to much harder tournaments in general, something I am not sure I am all that enthusiastic about. I enjoy testing myself against the best, but I am not really sure that I am 100% ready to do this on any sort of regular basis, I enjoy the time I have to go back, lick my wounds and come back prepared to try again. All that being said it means it is time for me to find something else to focus my attention on. I have been focused on wanting to play live more as I really enjoy the atmosphere and hanging out with people. I received an email from Absolute Poker that really peaked my interest in this direction so here it is, the Gman's new goal for 2011

1. Work my way through the AP step tourneys starting at the 10c 1st Step and win at least one seat the WSOP Main Event through a Step 10 win.

Why do I think I have a chance, well my background is as a 9man Turbo SnG player so this is pretty much right down Broadway for me. My goal is to take $100 and start at the 10c Step 1 level with my 1000 buy-ins and attempt to win at least 1 package. I am working on what my strategy will be for how to determine when to progress through to the next Step as I am going to want to avoid falling all the way back down the ladder so I am thinking that I am going to want to make sure that I excersice some form of Step BRM, but it just may not be realistic to attempt to keep 100 tickets for each level around, so I need to be a little flexible. Right now I am thinking that an Inverted pyramid with fewer lower tickets is the way to go and try to increase as I go up as I would expect them to be significantly harder as the levels increase. I would love to  hear what folks think about how to approach this topic.

Well time to get back to reality. Gl to everyone at the tables and I will keep you all informed of my progress. Tonight is night one and we shall see how the progress goes. This is the Gman signing out!
