Just thought I would drop in and give you all a quick update on my session last night. I played about 3hrs or so worth of $5.50 45mans on FTP and was up again. I have only got about 20-25 games in over the last couple of days but so far I am up $125 so I am pretty happy with the overall result. My plan is to continue with hitting these hard for the next while to really jack my BR up. On that note the Mini FTOPs XIX is just around the corner (starts a week from Sunday) and I encourage you to take a look at the schedule. I have had some time and solicited a lot of opinions on the ME tournament format from Pro's and Joe's alike and I think the general consensus I have come to is the following:
— A Multi-Entry Tournament is worth only the maximum number of entries if my perceived edge and the perceived value created is substantial.
Before you berate me, I know there isn't anything concrete about this. As a matter of fact it is pretty touchy feely, especially for me. That being said, I think what I really need is a heavy fish filled field that is so attractive that inherent value is very high and the number of good players taking advantage of it are so diluted that the odds of having to deal with them for any significant period of time is minimal. That being said I think this time around my Mini schedule is going to be pretty light. I am going to play Event #1 as I love deep stacks and it isn't a ME so I think it is a perfect combination. I typically cash it so it tends to start me off on the right foot. Beyond that It looks like I will probably be off until Event #20 ($20+2 NLHE Rush) as I am starting to take a shine to the Rush format and am really understanding it a lot more so I am more interested in taking a shot there. Event #22 ($12+1 KO ME) may be the only non-Main Event ME that I play but I am still on the fence about it. Right now the lower buyin is swaying me towards taking a 4 bullet attempt at it, not sure I can find the guts to fire a full 6 at it, but who knows, it is still early. The final two events for my calendar as a full 6 bullet shot at the Main Event (hence the huge amount of BR builders that I am putting in to sustain that hit) and I am giving very strong consideration to playing the 2day. I am going to need to follow up with the wife about clearing a whole weekend for playing poker as that usually doesn't go over too well if I am carving out two complete days (confident there aren't I ). I'm sure I am going to take a look at a lot of sat's as I really hate paying full price for anything, but I am willing to go for the gusto if need be. The Main Event is really the one that I am most concerned about sattelitting into as I am not excited about a straight up 6 bullet shot at that, but I think that the value is going to be there and that I have enough of an edge over the majority of the field to justify putting in a few extra shots to weed out a little variance and try to get one (or two) very successful deep runs going in it. Should turn into a ridiculous payout for a deep run, so I am excited.
Other than that I am off for the next couple of days unfortunetly, I have my EMS shift tonight, going out to dinner Friday and my weekend rotation on the ambulance is this weekend so I probably won't have another session until Sunday night when it will be more 45mans and some Mini Sats. I am off next week and headed down to Atlantic City for the WSOPC at Caesar's Palace, but more to come on that Monday. Until then gl on the felt! This is the Gman signing out!
