Derek Tenbusch, who plays as “Killingbird” online, began playing poker 5 years ago grinding SnGs and small stakes MTTs. In 2008 he won a Step 6 on Poker Stars, turning a $7 investment in to $12,500, giving him the bankroll he needed to start playing mid-stakes MTTs. Since then he has wins in the Daily Double, an MSOP final table, Fifty-Fifty final table and dual final tables in the Big Doubles on Full Tilt Poker. He also has several outright wins including several 4 digit scores on Poker Stars. Since Black Friday he grinds primarily on Bovada and America’s Cardroom. In all, he has over $300,00 in tournament winnings. Derek has his Masters degree in Communication from Central Michigan University and lives in Cary, NC with his wife and son. He is a co-founder and co-CEO of Tournament Poker Edge.
