So in my last blog I talked about how great the end of 2012 was an how excited I was to get started grinding heavy again in 2013. And then the downswing started…
It was not a huge downswing. But when you are playing on these smaller US facing sites, you get used to bad players and reduced variance due to smaller field sizes. So to go on relatively substantial downswing was shocking and unfortunate. But as we all know, the only way to battle through a downswing is to keep playing! And so i did. And thankfully I finally had a bit of an upswing over the last few days.
On Monday night I had 5 final tables including a 2nd place in the $1500 GTD ($33) and win in the $1500 GTD ($22) and a 1st place in the $5K GTD ($15r) all on Lock. Hopefully this is the beginning of an even bigger heater. I plan to keep playing a lot on March to try to keep it that way!
I'm also getting excited about the first ever 'real" live poker tournament in North Carolina. The World Series of Poker Circuit hits Cherokee, NC in April and I will be heading over there to play a few events including the main event. We have no casinos in about a 7 hour radius of us. And this is the first time they will have poker at Cherokee with live dealers and cards (they have used Machines for cash games in the past). So I suspect that this will be one of the softer stops on the circuit this year.
If you are coming to that event, make sure and let me know so we can grab a beer or two!
As always, follow me on Twitter.
Good luck at the tables!

when you were on your downswing, besides playing, did you do anything else to make sure your game was sharp? or did you find a leak that was leading to this downswing?
